This 1961 Austin-Healey Sprite “Bugeye” Mk I is a rare survivor from the final year of production and delivers the pure, lightweight roadster experience these cars are known for. Mechanically, the engine pulls strong and the gearbox shifts smoothly, making it ready for backroad driving today, and the gearbox has synchronized meshing in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. The body and chassis are remarkably solid for the age, with minimal rust present on the driver-side floor pan, while the overall structure remains very solid and the rear shocks and spring area are solid and robust.
