This 1975 Mercury Meteor Rideau 500 presents beautifully following a complete body restoration, rust repair, and repaint in its original Copper Metallic finish. The new white vinyl top and excellent tinted glass further enhance the car's clean, classic appearance. The body is solid, straight, and well preserved, while the interior remains original, tidy, and odor-free, with clean tan seats and carpet.
The 400 CID V8 engine runs smoothly, supported by a new battery, new AC compressor, and fresh freon. The C6 automatic transmission shifts properly, and all factory components are well maintained. It retains its classic driving feel with 4-wheel drum brakes and single exhaust.
Like many unrestored survivors, this Meteor has a few age-related imperfections: one small paint chip under the emblem on the right front fender, a rub mark on the right threshold, small dents in the stainless trim atop the doors, a mild highway-speed vibration likely caused by flat spots or wheel balance from long storage, and several cracks in the molded plastic interior door panels. These issues do not affect drivability and are typical for an original mid-70s vehicle.
